popWeb was established in 2008 with a single client and a big idea – to enable small businesses to have a professional website at a reasonable monthly fee, with no upfront design costs. This was a unique concept in web development, and the package included hosting, domain management, site creation, email and on-going content updates. A paid monthly concept allows start-ups to minimise their capital and cushion the financial stress. popWeb allows busy entrepreneurs to focus on their business while we focus on their website.
popWeb has evolved since then, from the original hard-coded sites to a more user-friendly platform which allows us to create websites faster and more creatively. Responsive, mobile-friendly design became a standard offering in 2012. In 2015 we broadened our offering from South Africa to the UK and the USA. By then we were incorporating blogs and twitter feeds into our clients’ websites.
e-Commerce websites were introduced in 2017, complete with payment gateways and live product design. We developed 3 packages to suit the needs of our clients. The website superheroes were up and running, saving businesses!
Over time, various value-added services were introduced. A copy writing service allows business owners to send us a bullet-point list which we turn into optimised copy. A logo design service ensures that your business has a relevant, eye-catching presence in the marketplace. Quarterly google analytics reporting and analysis was introduced in 2018. These all originated from listening to the needs of our clients and rescuing them from digital distress.
